Just wanted to update my review. Yosef and his drivers have been great. I've used them for regularly for business trips going back to last September. I always take the first flight out, so it's regularly 5AM pickups and the service is always great. When I call or verify reservations on the phone now, I'm greeted by name. I've had to change reservations at the last minute and it's never been an issue.
The price to and from the airport is consistently the same as a taxi and it's a nicer car with a friendly driver. I'll use them over and over.

Really professional. I had a mistake communicating with the pickup and our group ended up taking the wrong cab back (our party's fault entirely). The driver was understanding and professional. I still feel awful though...
I used City Cab two days ago. It's been a while since I have used them. This time Yosief picked me up. I've always talked to Yosief but it was my first time meeting him. It was above and beyond our expectations and Yosief is a very nice guy. I'm going to give them a call tonight too!

I've been using City Captain for almost a year now, for both business and personal... these guys never let me down (and I can be picky!) They are always early, extremely professional, love the variety of options from towncar to navigator or the party van! I have used a lot of limo / town car services in SD and these guys are definitely top notch and extremely reasonable in price! I've used them all...Those poor reviewers must be ridiculously high maintenance because these guys are good. Try finding such great customer service, professional, friendly, reliable and affordable anywhere else, because it won't happen!

So I promised my driver I'd write a Yelp review. I used City Captain to get to the airport during Thanksgiving. I called the number on the Yelp page, and I got to a woman who apparently was working from home. She asked me to text her the address and time I at which I needed to be picked up. All this was kind of weird and unprofessional, but it wasn't any inconvenience and she was very nice, so it didn't bother me at all.
I asked to be picked up at 3 pm, and my driver was right on time -- however, I was not. I wasn't ready until about 3:15 pm, and I apologized to my driver when he called at 3, but he said it was okay and he'd just get a coffee. When I was ready to go I gave him a call and he was already outside waiting. He was super nice and friendly and even said he was gonna call me to ask if I wanted something from Starbucks, but he didn't want to call me twice in a row in case I was the kind of person who's bothered by that. I was very amused!
All in all, great customer service.

Prompt & Professional
City Captain made transportation for my client's trip so convenient. It was really as easy as going to the Web site and filling-out a form with all the necessary information. My client informed me the driver promptly arrived at the airport to pick-up my client along with his travel companions, he helped with the baggage, opened car doors, waited as they checked-in to their hotel and then drove them to dinner.
I would recommend City Captain to anyone.

I've used this car service a few times now and each time they have been great. Scheduling a pick up is super easy with just a quick text to the driver. He always shows up on time if not early. Prices are competitive, cars are clean, and he never gets lost with GPS navigation. Not to mention he loves music and will always ask you what you'd like to listen to while on your trip.

I've used Yosief twice so far and every time he is on time or early. It is nice to have him in your phone since you can call him, SMS him, or use his website to contact him. I live in North Park and usually go to the Airport, so the fair is fairly inexpensive. It might be cheaper for a cab, but in a cab there is no leg room or nice chit chat or anything to write home about. With City Captain at least you get some nice banter back and forth and a very comfortable ride. I've always been picked up in a Town Car so I am not sure what other cars he has, but I would think they are all luxury cars (in black.) I have never ridden with a second passenger, I think his rule is only one fare at a time. I will be using City Captain again, probably soon actually. And it is always nice to know that in case you are stranded, too drunk to drive, or just forgot to get a ride, you will always have Yosief just a call away.

What can I say about City Captain they always come through and take care of us! Why take a cab when you can ride in style! Great prices with amazing service! Whether its a big group heading out to the club or just a few of us, City Captain is always our #1 choice! When ever we get dropped off they'll be ready to pick us up anytime...
The moment I knew City Captain cared was one night when we took the limo van downtown for a birthday party. I ended up getting a little too drunk and when we got picked up everyone had already made their way to the van while I was still drunk in the club having a good time. None of my friends were calling me trying to find me they were pretty much ready to go home (I dont blame them, they were probably as drunk as I was) But who waited there and after 10 missed calls from the Captain. I finally get the message and head down! Captain Joe made it his responsibility to get a hold of me and make sure I got home safe! I've been with plenty limo services and if you aren't there when they get there. They don't care who they leave behind. But that was not the case with City Captain. Ever since then I havent thought twice about another limo service or taxi! City Captain cares about their clients!
We've used City Captain for Company Events, Birthday Parties, Del Mar Opening Day, Random nights to the club and will continue to use City Captain for all our transportation needs! Thanks Guys!

Yosef contacted me to mend the relationship. He hadn't recognized there was an issue and did not want it to go unresolved. He offered a free ride which was perfect because my boyfriend had a party he was going to and didn't want to drive because duh he was going to drink! At any rate it made my life easier because they really are the most bang for your buck. Thank you to Yosef who made this issue into a positive thing rather than just apologizing a million times so I would update my review of him. Class all the way and City Captain rescuing from taxi hell.
7-2-11Okay so I have used this service maybe ten or so times. If you are planning ahead there is no one better for the price. They are generally on time and always nice with great water for you. I have to mention I will drink any water when I am really thirsty, but for the most part I am picky and this water passes the test.
I have used them for special occasions and man do they make you look good. My boyfriend was impressed when we DIDN'T get in a taxi for Valentines.
Yosef cares for his business quite a bit and you can tell once you meet him. The issue is my boyfriend and I take a lot of taxi rides because we never drive to the bar and I have bad knees and ankles. So I should mention that we are not just an airport or special occasion fare.
My last experience with City Captain was strange. I had called the day of to get a ride to the Lady Gaga concert. I was picked up in the Navigator and let me say that puppy is sweet! Long story short there was a mix up and I was accidentally driven to the wrong arena. I hadn't eaten all day but I wasn't angry because I often get lost etc.
After many failed attempts to get to the right arena my trip from Hillcrest to State was an hour. As far as I know I was charged full price( $50) and my driver didn't have change so they ended up keeping $10. I was okay with it: 1. Because I wanted to get out of the car and 2. Because I figured I would use them again.
After food and much contemplation (And Time. I think that concert was the end of March? ) I realized that no matter if I was a repeat customer or not there should have been a follow up. Yosef was aware of the situation and it either didn't occur to him or slipped his mind to say hey sorry about that hour long ride or even just hey I have your change credited to your acct. At this point I felt bummed because due to that and a couple other times that they were unable to provide an unscheduled return trip for one reason or another I really didn't feel comfortable calling and saying Hey! Grumble grumble grumble. It wasn't about the stupid $10 (Mostly because it wasn't like it was stolen.), it was just an eye opening moment in which I realized that we weren't compatible. I would rather have consistency than anything else. Hence the reason for looking for a car service as opposed to a taxi.
( Why do I feel like I am writing in a diary?) I hesitated posting anything because I didn't call Yosef and ask if he could fix things. Ultimately though it wouldn't have mattered because I wouldn't have been any more inclined to use the service again. So on goes my search for the perfect car service (That I can afford in this lifetime).

My gfs and I were looking for a car service to drive us from La Jolla to Downtown. We chose City Captain because it had really good reviews on Yelp. Lemme just say, these reviews aren't fake at all!
Being our usual, indecisive selves, we didn't call until the very last minute. Yosef was very accommodating and came to pick us up. He even agreed to pick up another one of our girls who was running late and still at her apartment (and out of the way).
He did mention that we should try calling earlier next time since his clients usually call 1 day ahead. (NOTE: City Captain is NOT a cab service, but a car service.)
Yosef is very friendly and talkative, and even had some hookups at FLUXX. Haha, even though we were already on the guestlist at FLUXX, he called one of his "boys" who works there to take care of us.
So $50 ride from La Jolla to Downtown split between 5 girls. That's way cheaper than getting a DUI, yo! (Rates obviously are based on distance.) I would definitely use City Captain next time I go clubbing.

Confidence, luxury and value. Those are the three thoughts I have in mind when think of City Captain. I have total confidence that they will be at my house (4:50 am today) and that they will be at the airport when I get back. Use of either email, text or cellphone is a major plus which gives me further confidence that there is no miscommunication.
City Captain employs a few cars, Lincoln Sedans and a big nice SUV. All are very comfortable, luxurious and quiet nice rides.
Their prices are very competitive, even to taxis! I will never take a taxi unless I'm desperate now. We asked for a car seat a few months ago for my daughter and we got that at no charge!
So look no further and give Yosef (owner) a call! -

Recently returned from a vacation in Hawaii. Typically hire a cab for transportation to and from the airport. Have experienced some less than thrilling rides to and from. Saw the YELP reviews for City Captain so I decided to give them a try. Outstanding customer service from the start. Could not be happier with how everything went from start to finish. Our driver, Yousief, was very courteous and professional. He assisted with our elderly passenger and her walker. Highly recommend going with City Captain. Nice cars, outstanding customer support and excellent driver.

6/9/2011I am extremely pleased with my experience with City Captain! I have used them twice over the past week and will definitely use them again! The drivers are courteous, professional, and prompt. The morning of my flight, I received a text message with the driver's ETA, and another when he had arrived at my door.
The sedans are black Lincoln Town Cars--much better than a taxi! Rates are extremely fair. I booked at the last minute on both occasions without a problem. Great experience overall!! -

6/9/2011We were talking about how we were going to get home from the airport after our trip to Cabo. My girlfriend looked up transportation services on Yelp! and found City Captain and Yousief. She called him while we were sitting on the tarmac waiting to de-plane. Since it was an international flight arrival, we had to pass through customs and also pick-up our luggage. We couldn't use our cell phones while waiting in customs, but Yousief was on top of everything. He requested that we send him a text message once we had claimed our baggage. Once we were outside of customs, she called and let him know our location and he came right to us. He was very professional, personable, and gracious which was much more than we could have imagined. We were very impressed and know that if we ever need a transportation service, he would be first on our list! Thanks to Yousief our arrival home was a wonderful experience!

6/7/2011I will definitely be using City Captain every time I travel to SD from now on! Yosief was so nice and easy to communicate with. He picked us up right outside baggage claim and brought us to our hotel in PB for a great price! He also asked what kind of music we wanted to listen to, and even had a complimentary bottle of champagne for us since I told him it was my cousin's birthday. He went above and beyond which got our trip off to a great start. Thanks Yosief!

Update - 6/7/2011Yousef gave me a call the next day to explain what happened - apparently their reservation system bounced my request because of a bug in Drupal. I was very impressed to be forwarded the bug report filed, and he offered me a free round trip for my troubles. I take back my prior rant and look forward to doing business with them again.

6/5/2011City Captain picked me up last night, ahem... this morning just before sunrise... and despite the 163 closures fouling us at every move he was low key and friendly getting to my destination. I was picked up in a nice black town car - a pleasant change of pace from the average cab if I do say so myself. The seats were cozy and the conversation was chill.
I've got his number saved for the next time I get stranded in San Diego! -

6/1/2011I needed a nice executive town car service that was reliable and had good reviews to help me out with my proposal to my fiance. I selected City Captain based on all of the good Yelp reviews, and he did not let me down. Yosief was great! He got there exactly when I asked him to arrive, was very professional, kept to the schedule I had established and overall provided an excellent service for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend him to a friend and would absolutely use him again.

5/23/2011I was looking for a cab service to call for a ride back home from the airport. I searched Yelp and found this and bookmarked it. On our way back to San Diego from Denver, we called the number and Yosief had us text him our flight info. He texted right back and told us to text him upon arrival.
Well, much to our dismay, our flight was delayed due to weather. Yosief texted us to tell us he had seen the change in time and not to worry, he would wait. We finally arrive and text Yosief. He calls and asks us where we are and he found us in no time. It is like having your own personal driver!
I will definitely use this service again!! -

Update - 5/22/2011Used City Captain again last night for a concert in Valley Center. As usual on time a d professional. I thought it would be expensive since it was from Mission Valley to Valley Center (45 miles). Great deal, I will continue to use them and recommend to all for airport shuttle or night out on the town.

5/14/2011Great service and pickup. Reviews here are spot on. I initially found their service from yelp and was looking for an alternative to Terramoto (who my office uses) or cabs for personal trips. I travel quite a bit for my job and appreciate finding a good car service. It's nice to now know of one here in my home town.
Had a couple of recent airport runs with City Captain and they've been prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced. I also appreciate getting the text message updates for pickups and confirmations. Very handy for busy individuals.
Will definitely use again and have saved their number in my contacts! -

5/8/2011We've used City Captain to go from La Jolla to the airport and back several times. Yosief has always been punctual and friendly. He's kept in touch with us before and after flights by text. We travel with our young son, and our car seat (a Britax Boulevard) fits the Town Car perfectly. If we're going for a week or more, City Captain's price beats all of the parking options. We wouldn't use anyone else.

4/17/2011Comparing City Captain Sedan to a local competing taxi services is like comparing platinum jewelry to those 25 cent rings you always see next to the gumball machines.
This is no taxi. This is a luxury service at a very affordable rate. You will receive polite, prompt, reliable and profession service for all your needs. This includes rides to the airport, picking your drunk butt up, and impressing the hell out of your date.
I lined up a ride with them after a night of drinking and the driver was not only friendly and intelligent, he also let me and my friends play our music as loudly as we wanted. As I recall, Queen and Chromeo went quite nicely together inside the swanky cab. All in all the ride cost us 20 dollars total.
Score.
No bad attitudes, smelliness, delays, or trumped-up fares. Save their number. -

3/20/2011It was my first time with City Captain, and for sure all the star reviews were true..I requested for the service just a day before my international travel...and it was nice of city captain staff to accommodate me last minute
the pick up was at 5.15 am and the car arrived well before time, the driver helped me with loading (from my apt) and unloading (at the airport) of my heavy suitcases.. in fact he even got me a cart at the airport...which was very helpful :)
the car was spacious, clean...the trunk could accommodate all my baggages.. in short the service was perfect, enjoyable, stress-free and the driver was VERY safe and professional.
I had booked a to-n-fro service so the driver had to pick me up from the airport after 3 weeks.. an email confirmation was sent a week before i was to arrive..reminding me that the driver would be waiting.. :) and he was.. in fact he had to wait a little longer until I cleared the baggage claim drama.. but no faces.. he welcomed me with a smile.. and was perfect to to get back home after a big exhausting travel.
City captain is 100% reliable, affordable and I definitely recommend them. -

Update - 3/11/2011I will never take a taxi again! Yosief and his team at City Captain are the best. Punctual, friendly, and fast! Yosief has been my "driver" for the past year and has not failed me yet. I travel often for business and pleasure and he takes care of me every time.

3/8/2011I live in El Cajon and have used City Captain several times now for trips to and from the San Diego airport. The service has always been outstanding. Yosief has always been right on time, helps me with my bags, and drives safely in traffic. The cars have always been pristine - he even asks me what type of music I would like to listen to. City Captain is the only service I use now.

2/6/2011Used this service for my boss retirement party, as well as for some VIP of my corporation. The service was perfect and the driver VERY professional. They arrived on time, and on the return they arrive early and let us know they were available whenever we were ready. They text you the ETA, and are very good at communicating. The car was clean and in good condition, and they will cater to your music tastes. They provide water bottles. I really enjoyed the ride. I saved the number on my cell for the future.
