North City Geography:
North City is a neighborhood in San Diego, California, bordered by Solana Beach and Rancho Santa Fe to the north, Del Mar Heights to the west, and Carmel Valley to the south. I-5 forms the western boundary.
Residents rarely use the name North City because the area is included in either Rancho Santa Fe or Carmel Valley neighborhood. Therefore it is exclusively used by the San Diego Police Department for zoning purposes. Stretching from Interstate 5 (I-5) on the west almost to Interstate 15 (I-15), with Los Peñasquitos Canyon at the southernmost edge and the Santa Fe Valley to the north.
